Contest

Theme: Diverse characters representing Korean culture and the Korean community

Eligibility: Open to everyone! (No age or experience restrictions)

Submission Period: From February 1, 2024, to March 24, 2024

How to Participate:
1. Create an original character illustration.
2. The artwork should reflect the characteristics of Korean culture and the Korean community.
3. Submit your entry to kaawusa@gmail.com.
4. Please include “KORUS Festival Character Design Contest Entry” in the email subject.
5. Click the Application Form  to Apply.

Judging Criteria:
1. Creativity
2. Connection to Korean culture and the Korean community
3. Character’s features and storytelling
4. Art quality

Prizes:
1. 1st Place: $500 cash prize and adoption as the official character of KORUS Festival
2. 2nd Place: $200 cash prize

Contest Schedule: Submission Period: February 1, 2024, to March 24, 2024

Judging and Announcement: March 29, 2024

Award Ceremony: May 3-5, 2024, during the KORUS Festival on the main stage

1. Submitted artworks will be used for judging purposes and will not be returned.
2. Winners are subject to change without prior notice.
3. Participate in the KORUS Festival and attract attention with your fantastic character!
