With heartfelt excitement, we welcome you to the 22nd KORUS Festival — a joyful celebration of Korean culture, heritage, and community. This year’s theme, “Chuseok Grand Festival Commemorating National Foundation Day,” reflects both the deep roots of Korea’s history and the enduring bonds of our community here in the United States.

As October 3 marks 개천절 Gae-Cheon-Jeol (National Foundation Day) and October 6 celebrates 추석 Chu-Seok (Korean Harvest Festival), our gathering on October 4 and 5 offers a special opportunity to honor tradition while embracing the spirit of unity. Through this festival, we not only celebrate Korean heritage but also highlight the diverse cultural mosaic that enriches American society.

For over two decades, the Korean American Association of the Washington Metropolitan Area has proudly hosted this beloved festival, a vibrant space for cultural exchange and community connection. The name “KORUS” embodies the enduring friendship between Korea and the United States — a partnership built on shared history, values, and traditions.
